Our team at Dentician is well trained to handle children and help them experience dentistry joyfully. We use Behavior Management Techniques, Laughing Gas/Nitrous oxide sedation or General Anesthesia for an anxiety free experiences that often involves voluntary cooperation from children.

Laughing Gas/Nitrous Oxide Sedation

Dentician is one of the few pediatric dental practices in India that provides an unmatched dental experience under the influence of Nitrous oxide aka "Laughing Gas". This technique is popularly termed as "Conscious Sedation or Anxiolysis". This is an extremely safe and effective method used over 5 decades to help apprehensive or anxious patients relax during their dental treatment.

This procedure can be performed only on children who can comprehend to instructions. Children above 4 years make best candidates for this procedure. It requires the child to breathe the Laughing/Sweet gas though a mask placed over the child's nose.

Patients remain alert, awake and can talk to dentists and staff during their treatment. The onset is quick, there are no side effects, and recovery is rapid. When treatment is complete, the nitrous gas is turned off and oxygen is administered for 5 to 10 minutes to help flush any remaining gas. The effects of the gas are limited to the period when the child breathes through his/her nose. There are no after or side effects as the gas is immediately eliminated from the body. The child can enjoy a regular routine for the rest of the day.

General Anesthesia

Dentician is one of the few pediatric dental practices in India that facilitates completion of dental treatment in one sitting under "General Anesthesia". Children requiring major dental treatment who are below 4 years or special children may require general anesthesia.

This is an extremely safe and effective method when administered by a certified paediatric anaesthesiologist in a well equipped facility. The child also undergoes certain diagnostic tests and examination to ensure they are fit for the procedure. We perform the procedure in a fully equipped operation theatre with attached facilities for emergency management and a nursing home.

It is natural for you to feel anxious about a child undergoing dental treatment under General Anesthesia. But trust us; you shall be completely relieved to see your child back with a dazzling painless smile.
